Riverina Leadlight and Fine Arts (incorporating Anaru Leadlight
- formed in 1989) has recently been redefined under its new
name to enable expansion in the Fine Arts arena.
Les, whose knowledge and skill in the arts was formalized
with a Diploma of Fine Arts in the UK some thirty years ago,
has exhibited artworks in a range of media and produced commissioned
works for both Government and private agencies.
Glen, born in Broken Hill, pursued a career in education
commencing with a degree and time teaching in Canberra. Her
interests in leadlight developed while undertaking a Leadlight
course as a hobby while lecturing in Mathematics Education
at what is now SA University. Although somewhat disillusioned
at finding it was nothing like other craft hobbies, persistence
led to a subsequent, voluntary apprenticeship under Vogue
Leadlight who was glad of a spare pair of hands at the time.
Professional tutoring and team projects over the ensuing months
involving work on several joint projects was the start of
her professional leadlight career turning it into a labour
of love.
Since then the portfolio has grown. On moving to the Riverina,
although still involved in a variety of roles in education
during the 1990's, forming Anaru Leadlight Studio resulted
in numerous leadlight commissions by clients thoughout the
area including 'Old Egerton - Bed & Breakfast' at Narrandera;
homesteads at Barellan and Ardlethan, residences in the Lockhart
and Wagga areas as well as Melbourne and Adelaide.
In the 2000's Riverina Leadlight and Fine Arts aims to continue
to produce high quality leadlight products and designs which
reflect style and flair to further enhance homes and business
throughout the Riverina and beyond.
